Elliott Brood was awesome. I do miss the suitcase kick drum though. Also cute that they gave the audience pots and pans and tambourines to play with. NQ Arbuckle were also very entertaining.
I'm really excited to see Twilight tomorrow. I'm 14.

That was one of the best shows I have ever seen. Visually, I have never seen anything come close. The projections were breathtaking. One of the highlights was a giant interactive drum machine graphic that they were actually manipulating in real time on stage. Overlapping video screens created giant walls of sparkling rain and pixelated rainbow snow. During a quieter part of the set, the band was surrounded by a virtual forest with moving water and clouds. That was later contrasted by alternating blue and red strobes during Gave Up. I was so hypnotized that I forgot where I was occasionally. Honestly, that was technologically and artistically brilliant from start to finish. Good one Trent!

I'm really absurdly excited for the NiN show tomorrow night. My brother is taking for my birthday -- very random gift from him. He's very straight laced and normal. I used to be goth and pretty much wear it on my sleeve. I didn't think he would be interested in that kind of nonsense. But then again, I did steal my brother's copy of the Downward Spiral when I was about 15. This is going to be so silly!!!

Someone took my bike - right out of the locker in my building. It was there last night. One of the following three things are true:
1. Someone mistook my bike for theirs, as it is generic looking.
2. Someone didn't close the door properly and a bum took it. 3. Someone in my building is a thief.
I give it until this evening, and if it's still gone, I'm going to cry.
Yay.

From Wikipedia: Sleep paralysis Physiologically, it is closely related to the paralysis that occurs as a natural part of REM (rapid eye movement) sleep, which is known as REM atonia. Sleep paralysis occurs when the brain awakes from a REM state, but the bodily paralysis persists. This leaves the person fully conscious, but unable to move. In addition, the state may be accompanied by terrifying hallucinations (hypnopompic or hypnagogic) and an acute sense of danger. Sleep paralysis is particularly frightening to the individual due to the vividness of such hallucinations. The hallucinatory element to sleep paralysis makes it even more likely that someone will interpret the experience as a dream, since completely fanciful, or dream-like, objects may appear in the room alongside one's normal vision. Some scientists have proposed this condition as a theory for alien abductions and ghostly encounters.
This happened to me at John's cottage. I was fairly sure that there was a ghost in my room, and it felt more real than a dream. Apparently John could hear me whimpering from outside. Not pleasant. That was followed by a horrific dream where I was being tortured by a serial killer. He was cutting off the ends of my finger tips. Conclusion: John's cottage is cursed.
Also:
 Thanks, John.

Andrea and Patrick's show was amazing, as expected. It's times like these that make me feel so fortunate. I can't believe that I'm friends with people who can express themselves through art so beautifully. Each and every one of my friends is so special and gifted. I get overwhelmed. I just hope that everyone knows how much I cherish them. And just so you know...if I died right now, I would haunt the shit out of all of you.

I had a consultation at the Focus Eye Center. As I feared, I am much too blind to get laser eye surgery. They could improve it about 75% but, I would still need to wear glasses all the time. But, I am a candidate for something called Phakic surgery. Basically, they make an incision in your eyeball and insert a lens inside. Kinda like permanent contact lenses. In addition to having perfect vision, it also would give me the ability to see dead people.
Pros: - hurts less than lasers - practically no down time - perfect vision immediately
Cons: - eww.. - they don't do it in Ottawa yet, so I would have to wait up to a year - it costs...get this - $10,000

Today I turned 65.
